#3.) vs Rey Mysterio – WrestleMania 27
Having a victory against Rey Mysterio at the grandest stage of them all did wonders for Cody Rhodes. He was pitted up against the WWE legend in what was an incredible grudge match. The character work leading up to the match was fantastic, with Rhodes being an obsessive character.
Rey Mysterio wasn’t setting the world on fire at the time but despite this, the two had a match that no one would have expected. They wound up having one of the best matches on the entire card and Rhodes even got cheered by the fans. It was a big notch on Rhodes’ belt and it proved that he belonged in the big time.
