Johnnie Robbie wants more.
Less than a week after Wrestle Dynasty, wrestling fans were treated to another notable cross-promotional event, that being NJPW Battle in the Valley, which emanated from San Jose, California. In addition to NJPW, Battle in the Valley showcased talents from CMLL, STARDOM, AEW, and ROH.
Four of these promotions were represented in an eight-woman elimination tag match, which placed AEW’s Viva Van alongside STARDOM’s HANAKO, Maika, and Mina Shirakawa. On the other side, NJPW STRONG’s Johnnie Robbie enjoyed the camaraderie of STARDOM’s AZM, AEW’s Anna Jay, and ROH’s Trish Adora, the latter of whom also works on the NJPW STRONG brand.
“That was awesome just to be amongst them,” Robbie told WrestleZone’s Ella Jay. That alone was an experience. They’re both amazing people, super sweet. Being able to just listen to how they go about things was awesome. AZM, I was like ‘Oh damn’. I’m lucky to be on her team, let alone next to her talking to her about it and all that. I was a little mark.”
When pondering the possibility of sharing a ring with other STARDOM, AEW, or Ring of Honor names, Robbie pointed special interest toward ROH Women’s Champion Athena. Overall, though, the California native is open to working with anyone from their expansive rosters.
“I just want to be able to get to STARDOM and just work with any talent they want to give me, just go overseas,” Robbie said. “Ring of Honor, if there’s anybody, Athena, because I’ve always loved watching her. She’s just a badass and amazing in the ring. But honestly, I just want to face anybody I can from any other company. I don’t want to specify just because I just want to be able to work with these talents on their turf and everything like that.”
