Skye Smitson wants Mercedes Moné in the ring.
At NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty, Mercedes Moné defeated Mina Shirakawa in a Winner Takes All Match, and in doing so, gained the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship. Following this victory, Moné will now head to England to defend the respective title at RevPro’s High Stakes event on April 20.
During a recent interview with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay, UK standout Skye Smitson detailed the significance of “The CEO” holding the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship.
“I think it’s an opportunity for exposure and an opportunity to prove [the UK scene],” Smitson said. “In most people’s opinion, the British scene is the best it’s ever been, and better than most scenes. I think it’s an opportunity for people like Kanji, Rhio. Obviously, Rhio has a lot of exposure behind her. I personally think Kanji is insanely underrated, insanely one of the best performers I’ve ever watched or met in my life. Lizzie Evo, Mercedez Blaze, obviously Alex Windsor, Safire Reed, Nina Samuels even, it’s an opportunity to show a different community of wrestling these people and what they can do.”

Recently, Smitson battled Kanji, a former PROGRESS Women’s Champion, at RevPro’s live event in Sheffield, England. Looking ahead, Smitson is manifesting herself as Mone’s upcoming challenger. Overall, though, she is excited for whoever ends up filling that slot.
“Fingers crossed, I get it, but if I don’t, I’m gonna be happy for whoever it is you because I think it’s such a great opportunity to shine a light on someone that doesn’t get that much of an opportunity,” Smitson said.
