Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up: Charlotte Flair Wins 2025 Royal Rumble, Megan Bayne Is All Elite, Jazmin Allure Interview

Charlotte Flair wins the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble. AEW CEO Tony Khan confirms Megan Bayne as All Elite. WWE Elimination Chamber qualifiers begin. Jazmin Allure chats with WrestleZone and more!

Charlotte Flair Wins The 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble

After a 14-month absence, Charlotte Flair returned to the ring in grand fashion, namely by winning the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble.

Flair entered the field from the #27 position and eliminated the likes of Michin, Piper Niven, Nia Jax, and the match’s iron woman Roxanne Perez. The closing moments came down to Perez, Jax, and Flair, with “The Queen” dumping “The Irresistible Force” to the outside. Perez, a former NXT Women’s Champion, tried to evade the same fate by hanging on to the ropes. A big boot from Flair, however, eventually sent her crashing to the floor for the final elimination of the match. As such, Flair solidified herself as the first ever two-time winner of the Women’s Royal Rumble and a title match of her choosing at WrestleMania 41.

“This was the longest I’ve been away from you guys and fans since I started in 2012, and I got into this business because of my little brother,” Flair said at the Royal Rumble press conference. “When my knee injury happened in December and it took me out, I just kept thinking, ‘I can’t go out this way.’ Then it made me realize how far I’ve come, and I was doing it because of him.

“Then seeing all the fans keeping up with my injury updates throughout the year with rehab and like ‘We miss you Charlotte, we love you, Charlotte.’ As a performer, sometimes you do feel like, ‘Do I still got it? What am I coming back to do? I’ve done it all.’ Coming back tonight and winning the Rumble two times, it’s like no, I’m coming back to do it all over again. That’s how hungry I am.”

So far, Flair has yet to choose which title to pursue at WrestleMania 41, as she wants to visit each WWE brand for inspiration. Following a trip to WWE Raw and WWE NXT, she now looks ahead to WWE SmackDown, home of WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton.

Elimination Chamber Qualifiers Begin

With the Royal Rumble now in the rearview mirror, qualifiers for the Elimination Chamber have officially begun. This event will emanate from the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on March 1.

Per tradition, six women will step inside the Elimination Chamber this year to potentially earn a shot at a championship not sought by the Royal Rumble winner. So far, one woman has cemented her spot, that being Liv Morgan.

Morgan’s entry into the Elimination Chamber comes under rather controversial circumstances. On WWE Raw, Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez attacked IYO SKY and WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley backstage. Later in the night, Morgan battled IYO SKY in the first women’s qualifier. Unfortunately for SKY, her Elimination Chamber hopes were dashed when Ripley struck Rodriguez at ringside in retaliation, then accidently clocked Morgan as well. Seeing this, the referee immediately called for the bell, ruling Morgan as the winner via disqualification.

The Raw-branded Elimination Chamber qualifiers will continue next week, with Bayley taking on Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria.

Megan Bayne Is All Elite

On the January 15 episode of AEW Dynamite, Megan Bayne re-debuted as an entrant in AEW’s first-ever Women’s Casino Gauntlet. Bayne emerged third in the match, joining the likes of Kris Statlander and Jamie Hayter. Ultimately, it was Toni Storm who emerged victorious by later pinning Julia Hart.

Two weeks later, “The Megasus” bounced back with a win over Hyena Hera on AEW Collision. In doing so, she also solidified herself as an official member of the All Elite Wrestling roster. AEW CEO Tony Khan broke the news on X (formerly Twitter) by writing:

“Congratulations @meganbayne! After a win tonight in her #AEWCollision debut, now it’s official: Megan Bayne is All Elite!”

Backed by eight years of experience, Bayne soared through the independent wrestling scene and STARDOM, notably winning the OVW and ICW Women’s Championships. Currently, she reigns as the House of Glory Women’s Champion, with a reign nearing 200 days.

She previously appeared on AEW in 2021 and 2022 at AEW Dark and Dark: Elevation tapings. In 2023, she also competed in a dark tag match alongside Emi Sakura ahead of AEW Rampage.
