Jazmin Allure looks back on her experience working in Mission Pro Wrestling.
Led by co-founder and co-owner Thunder Rosa, Mission Pro Wrestling rocked the Texas independent wrestling scene for several years, beginning with its inaugural Genesis show in October 2019. In August 2024, Rosa made a surprising announcement that the popular indie promotion would be going on hiatus, with a return date unknown.
While speaking with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay, former MPW Champion Jazmin Allure reflected on her time in the company.
“My favorite memory from Mission Pro was probably working with The Renegade Twins, having that faction because they are so fun to be around with,” Allure said. “I honestly felt like I was just out there with my sisters, so that was fun. And getting to see ‘Top Tier’ blossom in Texas, the character, finding myself and with help from Thunder Rosa, who’s amazing. We had other people come in and out to help us out like Madusa [and Jazz]. There was like a lot of great memories there. I hope they come back. I have a feeling they will, we’ll see. It was such a great company for women to get their work noticed and great exposure.”
Learning From Thunder Rosa
Aside from running Mission Pro, Thunder Rosa established herself as a top star in the National Wrestling Alliance, and later All Elite Wrestling. Additionally, the 11-year veteran emerged as a mentor to the rising talents of MPW, including Allure, who still carries forth her wrestling and non-wrestling advice.
“She’s really good on the business side,” Allure said. “I don’t know if a lot of people know lot about that, but marketing side as well. So I’ve been able to learn that from her. She was one of the first people that I saw in the independents that had this Mexican American character. And I was so drawn to that because I hadn’t seen that in WWE, a female Mexican American who speaks both languages, does promos in both languages. That was really like cool to me.”
“I obviously would love to follow her footsteps and stuff because she trained me, but also she’s an amazing human being,” Allure continued. “So outside the ring, that’s what I strive to be.”
