Ella Envy praises Jazz.
For the last four years, Jazz has served as a backstage agent for the National Wrestling Alliance, with a special focus on the promotion’s women’s division. According to four-time NWA Women’s Tag Team Champion Ella Envy, Jazz has taken on a “hands-on” approach to her backstage work. Personally, Envy credits Jazz, also a former WWE Women’s Champion, as an inspiration of strength.
“Miss Jazz is my favorite person in wrestling, and I mean that with my entire heart,” Envy told WrestleZone’s Ella Jay. “Miss Jazz, if you’re watching this, thank you for everything you’ve done. Thank you for being patient with me. Miss Jazz is the kind of person you want to go to for advice on wrestling. She’s the person you want to go to if you’re upset. She’s the person you want to go to if you have something really funny to say because she has a very contagious laugh. I absolutely just adore Miss Jazz.
“Miss Jazz has taught me so much. She’s very hands-on with the girls meaning she is in the ring working with us before the shows, showing us what to do, making sure we know what we’re doing before we go out there, making sure we don’t look stupid. She always watches our matches. She always gives us feedback. Miss Jazz has told me to toughen up a time or two. I feel like I’ve really learned some of that strength and confidence from her as well.”
Envy Recalls A Valuable Lesson She Learned From Jazz
In 2022, the NWA set out for a five-day loop around the Midwest. At the same time, Envy was just days removed from getting her wisdom taken out. According to Envy, her teeth later developed an infection as her pain medication ran out. As such, her travels came with additional aches. Jazz, however, encouraged her to stay resilient.
“I’ll never forget being very upset in one of the dressing rooms; Miss Jazz comes in, she closes the door, and she looks at me and she goes ‘You need to toughen up. You got to get through this. I’m dealt with worse, so dry the tears. Get up, keep going,’ and I did,” Envy recalled. “It was very hard, but I feel like she has definitely taught me some strength. You have got to be strong in this business mentally, physically, emotionally. I really owe a lot of that to Miss Jazz.”
