International Women’s Cup Coming To Wrestle Dynasty

On January 5, 2025, five promotions will all come together under the roof of the Tokyo Dome to present the inaugural Wrestle Dynasty pay-per-view event. The participating promotions New Japan Pro-Wrestling, All Elite Wrestling, Ring of Honor, CMLL, and STARDOM.

This week, NJPW announced that representatives from four of the aforementioned companies will collide in a singular match to crown the International Women’s Cup winner. In addition to the trophy, the winner will also earn a title shot in any promotion of their choosing.

The path toward the International Women’s Cup will begin with the participating promotions staging their our four-way qualifying matchups. The victors of those respective qualifiers will then advance to four-way final, with one woman from AEW, ROH, STARDOM, and CMLL each.

Thus far, only CMLL has confirmed its four qualifying match competitors.

“The World Champion (Zeuxis), the National Champion (Sanely), the Universal Champion (Persephone) and the winner of the Amazonas Grand Prix (Reyna Isis) will seek their ticket to the Tokyo Dome next Friday, December 13 at the Arena Mexico,” CMLL wrote on X.

Bayley Advances In WWE US Title Hunt

Recently, WWE announced the introduction of the WWE Women’s United States Championship, with the inaugural champion set to be crowned at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14.

Last week, Bayley, B-Fab, and Candice LeRae battled in the first round of the championship tournament on WWE SmackDown. And despite a valiant effort from the latter two, it was “The Role Model” Bayley who emerged victorious. As such, she now advances to the semi-finals, with the winner of Bianca Belair vs. Chelsea Green vs. Blair Davenport slated as her opponent.

In a recent interview with Headliner Chicago, Bayley expressed excitement toward the Women’s United States Championship.

“I think…nobody knew that that was happening. So in a way, it was really cool to be surprised, and I was just happy that I was in front of a monitor when it was happening,” Bayley said. “I was in the middle of a meeting with one of my bosses, and it just popped up, I heard Nick Aldis talk about the women, and I was like, ‘Hold on. Please, can we just watch this real quick’ I’m so happy that I caught it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been around a monitor because there was so much going on. But I’m really excited for all of us.”

Iron Survivor Challenge Qualifiers Continue

The path to NXT Deadline continued this week with two more Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge qualifiers.

In the overall second qualifier, Stephanie Vaquer took on a hungry Jaida Parker. Unfortunately for Parker, her drive was not enough to overcome a distraction from Lola Vice, which allowed Vaquer to secure the win instead. Elsewhere, “The Adelaide Powerhouse” Zaria (fka DELTA) battled and defeated Wren Sinclair in another qualifying matchup.

With their respective wins, Vaquer and Zaria now join Sol Ruca in the 2024 Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge, set for December 7 at NXT Deadline. Kelani Jordan and Giulia face off in the fourth qualifying match on next week’s episode of NXT.

Next week’s NXT will also feature a title match between NXT Women’s North American Champion Fallon Henley and Tatum Paxley.
