Roxanne Perez Retains NXT Women’s Championship (With Help Of Cora Jade)
It seems as though a pair of former friends have found a common enemy in the form of Giulia.
At NXT No Mercy, former NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Giulia made her long-awaited WWE debut, confronting NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez in the process. In the weeks following, the stage was set for Perez to defend her title against Giulia at NXT’s CW Network debut on October 1.
As expected, Giulia and Perez battled back and forth, with the former later seeming to be moments away from victory. Unfortunately for Giulia, a hooded figure pulled her out of the ring as the referee tried to stop Perez from using the title belt as a weapon. With the referee’s back still turned, the hooded figure then rocked Giulia with a DDT onto the outside mat. Shortly after, the assailant revealed themselves to be Cora Jade, a former tag-team-partner-turned-enemy of Perez. Meanwhile, Perez nailed Giulia with a Pop Rox inside the ring to secure the victory, and retain her NXT Women’s Championship.
Following her win, Roxanne Perez delivered a stern message to her NXT fans and colleagues.
“Everybody thought Giulia was gonna win. Everybody thought that Giulia was gonna go home with my NXT Women’s Championship, and now I understand. Honestly, now I understand why everybody thought that, because Giulia is one of the toughest competitors that I have ever stepped inside of the ring with,” Perez said. “But look who’s still NXT Women’s Champion. And all of you thought that that wasn’t gonna happen. But guess what? All of you are still gonna have to deal with me for a long, long, long, long time. Nobody can touch me.”

Anna Jay Added To NJPW STRONG Women’s Title Contender Match
Fresh off a three-week tour of STARDOM, Anna Jay returned to All Elite Wrestling action on last week’s episode of AEW Rampage. In doing so, Jay defeated Robyn Renegade.
Looking ahead, Jay is now slated to compete in a match in which the winner will earn a shot at the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship. New Japan Pro-Wrestling dropped the news earlier this week, revealing Jay as the first of four participants in the number one contender’s match. This bout will take place at the 2024 Fighting Spirit Unleashed event, which emanates from Lowell, Massachusetts on Friday, November 8.
The NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship is currently held by “The CEO” Mercedes Mone, who also reigns as AEW’s TBS Champion. Mone claimed the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship with a victory over Stephanie Vaquer at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, where both titles were on the line. Since then, Mone has defended her NJPW title once.
This respective title defense came at NJPW Capital Collision on August 30. There, Mone defeated Goddesses of Stardom Champion Momo Watanabe.

Bayley Earns WWE Women’s Championship At Bad Blood
After a recent tag match resulted in Bayley and Naomi simultaneously pinning WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax, WWE SmackDown General Manager Nick Adis ruled that the two women would then battle one-on-one, with the winner earing a title shot at WWE Bad Blood.
The respective number one contender’s match took place on last week’s episode of SmackDown, with Bayley emerging victorious after hitting a Bayley-to-Belly and a diving elbow. Accordingly, “The Role Model” will now challenge Nia Jax for the WWE Women’s Championship at the October WWE premium live event.
On SmackDown LowDown, Bayley opened up about what fans can expect to see from her in the upcoming title match.
“Well, first of all, I gotta get the right cut,” Bayley said. “Gotta get the Bayley burns, you gotta get that fade down right. I’m excited for my gear, and I feel I need to bring out some new moves. To me, obviously not just losing the match at SummerSlam, but I didn’t feel totally confident in watching that back. I didn’t feel that was my best performance, and I owe all my fans. Seriously, you guys are the best; that stuck with me for so long. They deserve Bayley at the top, they deserve my top performance. They deserve all the best of me, so I just need to make sure I’m right. I’m talking a big game now, but I still got Nia Jax. She’s not anyone to mess with she is ‘The Irresistible Force.’ She did take my title, so I really gotta focus to get that back.”
Elsewhere at Bad Blood, Liv Morgan will defend the WWE Women’s World Championship against Rhea Ripley.
