Former Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn lost his championship to Bron Breakker at WWE SummerSlam. Zayn then challenged for the gold in a rematch on the August 12 episode of WWE RAW.
During the match, Breakker wowed the crowd by throwing Zayn into the timekeeper’s area as if he was a lawn dart.
Sami Zayn took to Twitter to reflect on the spot. He mentioned that it showcased multiple dynamics and characters in a single shot. He also shared that there was a legitimate threat of him getting seriously injured.
“So much of what I love about the art of wrestling is encapsulated in this short clip: unique characters & the dynamics between them, the legitimate threat of serious injury & the skill it takes to narrowly avoid it, a collective emotional response from thousands of people sharing a moment in time, expressed uniquely by each individual experiencing it. It’s a beautiful thing. (I realize this is a strange way to talk about almost getting killed.),” Sami Zayn tweeted.
Moving forward, Sami Zayn seems set to chase the tag team titles with Jey Uso. They beat WWE World Tag Team Champions Finn Balor and JD McDonagh on the July 22 episode of WWE RAW.
