Mark Briscoe To Defend ROH World Title Against The Beast Mortos On 8/22 ROH TV

On the August 15 episode of Ring of Honor on HonorClub, ROH World Champion Mark Briscoe successfully defended his championship against Johnny TV. Now, Briscoe is ready for his next challenge.

Following his title defense, Mark Briscoe issued a challenge to The Beast Mortos.

“Big Time and Mark Briscoe here, conglomerating hard as usual. Tonight, let me talk to you about what I got to do earlier on this evening. I got to share the ring with one of the most innovative men of the millennium. The man that can walk on his hands and spin on his pants, Johnny TV himself. Johnny, hey it was an honor my man. It was an honor. But the champion is still the champion. I picked up the victory.

“But, I am not here to talk about any victories that I have won, I am here to talk about a loss that I suffered just a few weeks ago in front of hundreds and thousands of people on Live TV. On AEW Dynamite Wednesday night, the Beast Mortos pinned me one, two, three in the middle of the ring. I sm not a man to sit here and make excuses. So Mortos, truth be told, you have earned a shot at this title. But hell with that. I am insisting on getting your a** in the ring. I want a shot the Beast. Because I need my come uppance baby. The word of the day, if you believe it or not is recapitulation.

“So let me… Let me… I need to talk to Ring of Honor officials. I need to talk to Paul Wight. Let me recaitualte. I need the Beast Mortos one-on-one. I’ll put the title on the line. I want your a** Beast. I’m coming for you Beast. Are you ready?” Mark Briscoe said.

Paul Wight Confirms Title Match

After hearing what Mark Briscoe had to say, Paul Wight, a member of Ring of Honor’s Board of Directors, made the title match between Briscoe and Mortos official.

As Wight made the announcement, Tony Nese and Daivari showed up. Nese claimed that he deserves a World Title match. He also accused Paul Wight of handing out title matches to undeserving people.

“Again, here we go. We are giving away opportunities. Giving away opportunities to more people who don’t deserve it. You know, we have been the MVPs of Ring of Honor. Daivari just took Shibata to the limit… That’s not the point… Yeah now, Mark Sterling okay, is in a trainer’s room because Shibata decided to attack a non-competitor. Which might I add, should be a fine or a suspension. But no. We are busy just giving away opportunities right?”

Paul Wight then mentioned that if Nese defeats Lio Rush in a one-on-one match next week he will earn himself a shot at the ROH championship. Tony Nese while was upset that he had to fight to earn a title shot he didn’t seem to look at Lio Rush as a threat.

“So again, I have to prove myself? Lio Rush? Looks like I will be the giant in this match. Thanks for the lay up,” Tony Nese said.
