Two time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair spoke to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated and weighed in on a plethora of topics including an update on his health, why he thinks Roman Reigns is facing Brock Lesnar again and his daughter, Charlotte Flair’s rise in the industry.
Regarding his health that saw him go under the knife last year for blockages in his bowel, Flair mentioned:
“It’s almost a year ago, August 14, when I went through everything with my surgery. But now I feel great. I just had another surgery a couple weeks ago to reverse the stoma. Now I need a couple of months of rest, and I still can’t work out yet, but I feel fantastic. It’s a miracle.”
He also expressed his gratitude that his body doesn’t feel ‘banged up’ and that it doesn’t have to undergo multiple surgeries like some of his other contemporaries.
When asked about what Roman Reigns can do different to make his encounter with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam intriguing, Flair mentioned that it isn’t solely down to the competitor to make things interesting anymore, and that the promotion plays a major role in it nowadays.
He concluded the interview by addressing how proud he is of his daughter Charlotte Flair, and expressed his confidence that she would have grown her brand to such a level by the time she decides to call it a day.
