Tommaso Ciampa is the new NXT Champion after defeating Aleister Black on tonight’s episode of NXT.
Ciampa won the title after Johnny Gargano ran in and superkicked him, Gargano then attacked Black, but Ciampa recovered and whipped him outside. Following this, Ciampa attacked Black and hit his finisher before making the cover, much to the shock of the crowd.
Black’s first and only NXT Championship reign ends at 109 days (at time of airing). This is Ciampa’s first singles title win in WWE; he was also a NXT Tag Team Champion with Johnny Gargano in 2016-17.
