Stone Cold Calls ‘BS’ On Big Cass Firing
“Stone Cold” Steve Austin took to his Steve Austin Show podcast to comment on Big Cass’ recent WWE release,
“Big Cass just got let go about a week ago, for reasons I do not know. People said it was because he went out on a limb and didn’t stick to the script. Well, I’m calling bullsh*t on that one. Whatever he did…maybe he did go off script and do something; but, I don’t think they would fire him just for that. I don’t know the reasons; but, people were kinda reaching out to me on social media, on Twitter and saying, ‘Hey Steve you’re always telling everybody to go out on a limb and push the envelope. Well look what it did for Big Cass.’ That ain’t why Big Cass got fired. I don’t know why he got fired; but, if he had enough guts to go out on a limb and give something a try, more power to him. So, if you tried to get on Twitter and set me straight, that ain’t what got him fired brother.”

When Can Cass Reportedly Return To Wrestling?
The latest issue of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the recently released Big Cass had a 90 day no compete clause in his WWE contract. According to the Observer,
“Cass had a number of issues he’s been battling coming off his knee surgery that probably played a role in being let go. We were told it was no one thing but a combination of things. It will be interesting to see what direction his career will take because if he wants to work indies, he would be able to get a lot of work, but his in-ring isn’t the style that will thrive on indies. Still, a ton of promoters, particularly overseas, would likely pay well for Enzo & Cass as a team. And the issue is the two of them hate each other right now. Enzo has clearly not gone headfirst into the indie scene and is looking at making it as a rapper. Before he was fired, he had openly talked of potentially leaving and trying to do other entertainment work, but his merchandise money was so big that he probably never would have made that break. Him saying basically that on a phone call that other wrestlers heard was essentially the reason he was kicked off the bus on that European tour.”
The WWE announced that they had parted ways with Big Cass on June 20th, making him available for a late September return to professional wrestling.
