ROH Wrestling: Episode #341
Sam’s Town Live – Las Vegas, NV
Air Date: April 2, 2018
On Commentary: Ian Riccaboni & Colt Cabana
Recap Provided By: Dominic DeAngelo (@DominicDeAngelo)
Episode #341 starts off with Colt, Ian and “The Villain” Marty Scurll on commentary for the Champions’ Challenge Tag Match that’s going to open tonight’s show. Scurll has his arm around Ian and doesn’t say a word until Colt mentions how quiet he is. Scurll says he’s busy enjoying the entrance of Kenny King (but I think he’s brewing up some evil deeds)
MATCH 1: The Briscoe Brothers vs. Kenny King & Dalton Castle (w/ The Boys)
Dalton and Mark start the match off as Marty says he doesn’t care who wins this match. Briscoes gain advantage of Castle as Mark tags in Jay and Dalton sells his rib injury before tagging in King. King plays up to the crowd as King flips out of a hammerlock and exclamation points it with a kip up. Very smooth sequence.
We return to see Dalton and Jay back in the ring as Dalton uses some amateur wrestling takedowns. Mark gets tagged in and Dalton still plays up the ribs. Colt asks Marty if he thinks there could be a conspiracy against him, and he’s not ruling it out. He’s been in ROH for over 500 days and Ian brings up that Scurll beat Castle in his ROH debut Briscoes start beating up and double teaming Dalton on the outside and Scurll tries starting a “Man Up” chant. The beat down continues into the ring as they work the classic “isolate the man” strategy. We then cut to break as Dalton takes a double-team running front dropkick off the apron.
Dalton is still in the ring when we cut back as he eventually forearms Mark and dives to make the hot tag to King. King comes in like a man on fire with wheel kicks and a spinebuster worthy of Arn Anderson. Jay Briscoe gets offense and Mark Briscoe knocks Castle off the apron as Jay delivers a superplex into a diving elbow drop by Mark. Cool spot, but only good for two as Dalton manages to break it up as he goes on the attack, but takes a sidekick to the face for good measure. King answers with an exploder suplex on Mark and shotguns knees him into the corner. Silas Young then saunters down to the ring, talking smack to Kenny. Jay takes advantage with a hurricanrana and hits him with the Jay-Driller for the win.
Winner: The Briscoe Brothers via pinfall at 13:30.
After the match, Silas stands over the fallen King holding the TV Title. Dalton comes in to check on King as Scurll grabs the world belt, priming to hit Castle from behind, but Dalton turns and sees Scurll in time to stop him. Commentary plays it up like Scurll could have hit him, but he chose not to.
