Johnny Gargano posted the following comments after it was confirmed that he would leave NXT (transcription by Bill Pritchard):
When I made my NXT debut back in 2015.. you all immediately embraced me with chants of “Johnny Wrestling” ..I wouldn’t have been there month after month if it weren’t for your support. With every match at Full Sail.. to every Takeover, you grew louder and louder. You never gave up on me. That’s something I’ll never forger…
I wanted to help create something special for you.. something you all could be proud of. I hope I did that.
Whatever my future holds.. I will always love you, and I will ALWAYS love NXT.
Gargano lost his NXT Championship match against Andrade Cien Almas last week, and the stipulation attached was that he would leave the brand if he was unsuccessful. Gargano later signed a ‘Termination Of Services’ agreement, and will finish up with the brand in the ‘next few weeks.’
