John Cena Responds To Ford Lawsuit Over Sale Of $500K Car; Claims Ford Screwed Up The Paperwork

TMZ is reporting John Cena is fighting back against Ford and their lawsuit over the sale of his rare Ford GT, saying the car company screwed up the paperwork and wants the case thrown out.

According to the report, Cena says Ford never included a provision in the paperwork that prevented him from selling the car before the company’s 24-month resale provision was up.

Ford originally sued Cena over selling the limited Ford GT car (valued at $450,000) because he sold the car within two years of purchase, which they say was one of the terms that buyers, which included Houston Astros’ Justin Verlander and NASCAR’s Joey Logano, agreed to.

According to the original filing of the suit in November, Cena told Ford he sold the car and other property to pay bills. Ford’s original claim against Cena stated:

“Mr. Cena has unfairly made a large profit from the unauthorized resale flip of the vehicle, and Ford has suffered additional damages and losses, including, but not limited to, loss of brand value, ambassador activity, and customer goodwill due to the improper sale.”
