PWInsider.com has a new report out with a variety of updates regarding WWE’s 205 Live brand.
Most notably they report that Vince McMahon has stepped aside as the creative force behind 205 Live and the show is now being overseen by Triple H.

- Vince McMahon stepped aside two weeks ago and handed control of the show over to Triple H
- The last two weeks 205 Live has been run more like an NXT taping with Triple H being the, “alpha and omega,” when it comes to decision making
- The “vision” of the last two weeks has been more in-line with what the original plans for 205 Live was before Vince decided to get personally hands on with the product
- Triple H has been bringing back many of the hallmarks and traits of the Cruiserweight Classic to help 205 Live feel like something other than just, “another hour of WWE TV”
- This includes the in-ring style and presentation
- Vince McMahon had been pushing for 205 Live to be more character driven
- This is why Enzo was moved to the division and was made a central fixture before being released
- The lead writer for 205 Live is Jonathan Baeckstrom
- Baeckstrom has been with WWE’s creative team since 2013 and has been working as a lead writer since August of 2016
- There are not current plans to take 205 Live back on the road
- The plan right now is to build the brand up by building up the competitors and their in-ring style before considering another experimental WWE Live events run
- Roderick Strong was brought up from NXT specifically to freshen up the 205 Live roster
- There may be other talents called up from NXT to join the 205 Live roster
