The Latest On WWE’s TV Deal Going Into 2019
The Business Journal has a new article up looking at the possibility that UFC could be leaving Fox Sports 1 next year after their seven year agreement with FS1 comes up. They note that UFC is looking for a huge increase in media right’s fees.
They go on to say that WWE’s George Barrios and Triple H (Paul Levesque) met with FOX executives thid past summer. If FS1 is not able to keep UFC then WWE may be looked at as a suitable replacement since WWE’s rights deal with USA ends in the fall of 2019.
They also say that WWE’s meeting with FS1 was part of a “road show” where they also met with executives from Amazon, CBS, YouTube and Disney. WWE’s exclusive negotiating window with NBC doesn’t end until spring of 2018 so they, “did not negotiate contract points or talk about rights fees.”
