WWE Battleground
Randy Orton will once again challenge Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship, and it will be in a Punjabi Prison Match at WWE Battleground.
Orton held a sit-in in the ring on Smackdown before Shane McMahon came to the ring and told Orton he needed to think about his actions. Orton said he was going to continue to attack Jinder until he got what he wanted, because Jinder disrespected his family at Money In The Bank. Shane sympathized with Orton, but also said Orton was guilty of similar actions himself.
Shane announced Orton would get his rematch at WWE Battleground, but Jinder would get to choose the stipulation. Jinder came out and said Orton was undeserving of another title shot and this was an example of how unfair he’s been treated in WWE. Jinder then said he was bringing back a match first introduced by his hero, The Great Khali, and they would battle in a Punjabi Prison Match.
It was reported earlier today that WWE had been planning on bringing the match back and had taken the structure out of storage to use for the PPV. This will be the third ever Punjabi Prison match, with the last one taking place at No Mercy 2007.
