Steve Corino Says Goodbye to Ring of Honor Tonight in Philadelphia; Wrestles Final Match Against Cody Rhodes

Long-time Ring of Honor commentator and veteran pro wrestler Steve Corino said goodbye to the promotion tonight at their television taping in Philadelphia, PA.

Last week a rumor went around stating that Corino had signed a deal with WWE to become a head trainer at the WWE Performance Center, after doing a recent guest spot, but the claim was disputed by several reports stating that he couldn’t even negotiate a deal until his contract with ROH expired at the end of the year.

That being said, tonight’s TV taping was the last event of the year for Ring of Honor so presumably he has no commitments left, and while legally “you can’t negotiate with a rival company while under contract” is the official party line for everyone in wrestling across the board, the two promotions are on relatively good terms and that really hasn’t stopped under-the-table  negotiations in the past.

Corino wrestled his last match for ROH against Cody Rhodes at tonight’s television taping at the 2300 Arena in Philly. At this point it’s unclear who will replace him full-time on commentary alongside Kevin Kelly.
