On his children wanting to become WWE Superstars:
“I just want my children to follow their dreams, regardless of what that is. I think that was the great thing about my parents. My parents weren’t wrestling fans, but I loved wrestling, and when I said I wanted to be a wrestler they were 100% supportive. And so for our children, that’s what I want too. Whatever they want to do, whether it be being a professional wrestler, whether they want to work for NASA, or if they want to be the president of the United States – not that anyone would ever want that job.”
Who he would draft from NXT:
“That’s really, really tough. I would love to have Nakamura, just because I roomed with him for a short time. I’ve known him for a long time. And Samoa Joe, because I’ve known him for a long time too. There are so many great people down there. The women’s champion Asuka is really good. I love Austin Aries. Bobby Roode’s really good.”
The coolest part about being the Smackdown GM:
“I think it’s just being around the guys. It’s hard when you retire, and you’ve been doing it as long as I have. My full adult life I’ve been wrestling, and on the road, and being around these guys. When you retire and you’re not around that anymore you’re just sucked out of a vacuum, out of the people you’ve known for a very long time. That’s been the really cool part, just being around the other Superstars and that sort of thing.”
