It’s been a pretty massive week for the Bullet Club collective worldwide, and their Club members in the WWE. Leader Kenny Omega became the first Western star in history to win the New Japan G1 Climax tournament, putting him front and center for a shot at the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, while Adam Cole unseated Jay Lethal to regain the Ring of Honor World Championship. The Young Bucks also retained the IWGP Jr. Tag Team Championships at the NJPW Super J-Cup Finals this weekend.
While Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows didn’t win the WWE tag team titles from the New Day at WWE SummerSlam, they did pick up a win over the champions via disqualification, and were involved in a fairly high profile spot with Jon Stewart and a returning Big E that will probably get some decent mainstream media play. And of course, the “Phenomenal One” AJ Styles pinned 15-time world champion John Cena clean, in the middle of the ring, in his biggest victory since arriving in WWE.
While newly crowned WWE Universal Champion and Bullet Club founder Finn Balor hasn’t exactly sided with his former allies since coming up to the main roster – although they did tease a reuinion tonight – that doesn’t seem to matter to members of the team around the world. Omega, the Young Bucks and Adam Cole sent out tweets during WWE SummerSlam, showing that the worldwide heel faction, whether they be Bullet Club or Club, is stronger than ever.
There’s a lot of great #BulletClub stuff going on all over the place.
