This third of four videos this weekend from CSR is all about Randy Orton, his return and building him as a threat to Brock Lesnar. Here’s some highlights from the conversation:
Ronnell Hunt:
This is a perfect built. This is what you look at as a wrestler: how are you building to it? You can go to whatever PPV you want, but if its not the proper build then the audience isn’t going to buy into it. If I’m in a match, I know I need to build it properly so people can care about the story I’m telling. I know at points, WWE has lacked telling stories and building the right way but with Randy Orton coming back setting up for Lesnar, they are building it perfectly.
Justin LaBar:
Here’s what I love about the match on SmackDown, the match was the perfect illustration to be a threat and have a chance against Lesnar. The Miz went after that shoulder and Orton sold it like De Niro. He started cursing, slapping the barricade. Drawing the ref in. I thought his first match back the shoulder is re-injured, The Miz is going after it like a vicious IC Champion and then boom…he hits the RKO. It reminds you that’s the weapon he has to try and combat against Brock Lesnar. Randy is trying to make the point of it’s coming at anytime.
