New Angle Shows WWE Money in the Bank Tag Team Title “Botch” Was Actually Good Refereeing (Video)

There was somewhat of a controversy at WWE Money in the Bank regarding the WWE Tag Team Championships. The titles were being defended by the New Day in a Fatal Four-Way match involving Enzo Amore and Big Cass, The Vaudevillians, and The Club.

What was originally thought to be a “botch” by either the referee or Luke Gallows came towards the very end of the match. After Enzo and Cass looked to have the match and the titles won following an assisted top rope splash, Luke Gallows pulled his partner Karl Anderson from the ring just after it appeared that the ref had counted to three, causing the fans in the brand new T-Mobile Arena to erupt for what they assumed was a title change.

As you can see in the video below, taken by a fan in attendance at tonight’s pay-per-view, Anderson’s shoulders were actually off the mat when the crowd began to count. The referee, seeing this, had actually pulled his hand back for the first count, waiting for Enzo to properly pin Anderson, as the crowd continued to count, now off by one.

Great seats! @koshairby you rock! #MITB
