It was officially confirmed that Shinsuke Nakamura will face Austin Aries at NXT Takeover: Revenge. As we noted, this match had been rumored to take place going into tonight’s taping event, and you can now officially add it to the card for the June 8th event.
Also announced, NXT Women’s Champion Asuka will defend her title against Nia Jax at Takeover: Revenge as well. It was originally assumed that Bayley would get her obligatory championship rematch, but General Manager William Regal made the announcement tonight that Bayley is not cleared to compete. Nia Jax defeated Carmella and Alexa Bliss in a triple threat match to earn a #1 contender’s spot against Asuka at Takeover.
