As noted, WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Snuka being charged with 3rd degree murder and involuntary manslaughter has been picked up by major media outlets such as The New York Daily News, The Associated Press and the story even began the 11 o’clock edition of the news last night on the local ABC affiliate in New York City.
Earlier today, we recapped the three essential factors which lead to authorities reopening the investigation into the death of Nancy Argentino, the then-girlfriend of Snuka who died back in 1983. The case was ultimately ruled a homicide, and autopsy evidence, along with Snuka’s seven different versions of the event which lead to Argentino’s death, and past domestic abuse allegations lead to Snuka being arrested on the murder and manslaughter charges.
According to The New York Daily News, however, Snuka’s attorney, William E. Moore, told the publication that Snuka is not only battling stomach cancer and is recovering from surgery, but he is also suffering from partial dementia, something Snuka’s defense will likely focus on to determine if he is even able to stand trial.
Snuka has a preliminary hearing in Allentown, PA scheduled for 9/21, and according to The Morning Call, Snuka was wheelchair bound and using a feeding tube when he surrendered to authorities yesterday.
