SD! Reboot?
‘Wrestling Isn’t Wrestling‘ writer Max Landis recently posted an idea for an episodic reboot of Smackdown when it moves to USA Network later this year. Landis, who also directed the new American Ultra film, says he would make Smackdown have a more central story with focus on each character and episode, making it feel like a ‘prison island’ where the talent were trying to ‘escape.’
When prompted by a fan who said it sounds similar to Lucha Underground, Landis added that the whole show would have a plotted out episodic TV format, with wrestling at the root of it. You can read his full explanation in the Tweet below:
