TNA let go several office workers and members of the road crew, which was already said to be very thin. Among the more notable releases was Jimmy Jay (high five!) who did all the merch promos for TNA’s website, and who I’ve talked to a few times at TV tapings. He was frequently at the merch booth making sure things were going smoothly, between going out to the arena and watching the show, talking with and helping lots of fans.
Dewey Barnes, another merch guy you may recognize as the enhancement talent Ethan Carter III beat on several occasions, was also let go. The employee in charge of live event promotion, Rafeal Morfi, left the company recently. There are currently no house shows scheduled for the future, with the last remaining events being turned into TV and One Night Only PPV tapings. This may end up being another aspect of the promotion that gets scaled back due to budget cuts.
