While there is no official update on the future of independent wrestling stars Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards, the current rumor is that TNA Wrestling has made a play to sign them before WWE can. That being said, there's no telling if WWE is actually interested in offering the American Wolves a contract, as they have been working temporarily at the Performance Center, and occasionally working matches for the NXT developmental brand. They were brought in on a short-term deal at the request of William Regal, but as of now they are both still free agents.
Both Davey and Eddie have been on a "farewell tour" of sorts, appearing for companies like Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and Combat Zone Wrestling, as well as appearing Internationally to say "goodbye" to the indie wrestling fans. So it would appear that regardless of what the Wolves choose to do, at this point they will likely not be returning to ROH any time soon.
As far as TNA trying to sign them, there's a lot of recent stories that seem to point towards this rumor being true. Both Eddie and Davey have mentioned going down to Orlando in their farewell speeches, even teasing the fans that "we didn't say who" in Orlando they'd be working for. Both WWE and TNA operate out of Orlando, FL with Impact Wrestling and WWE's Performance Center operating in the same city for the time being. It is likely that the two are waiting to hear back on a potential contract with WWE, but are also considering TNA as a second option if their short-term deal doesn't yield something more substantial.
