NBC Universal has announced that it will be rebranding its G4 Network, and going forward it will be called "The Esquire Channel." According to the announcement, NBCU will be teaming up with Esquire Magazine to launch the made-over channel, which is being billed as an "upscale Bravo for men."
This affects not only WWE but UFC significantly, as both companies were looking to purchase the channel at one point in the past. WWE was looking to purchase G4 and make it the home of the WWE Network, which would have been a major help in WWE's bid to get distribution clearances from cable companies.
