Bischoff speaks on several topics, including a lawsuit he recently filed against The Irma Hotel, who has also been using the "Buffalo Bill" name for its own beer product. "In the early 1990s, I got a home brewing kit just for giggles," Eric said. "It was a family project – we even had our kids washing bottles and putting on lids.
"The whole concept of making this ‘local' beer with Buffalo Bill on it was a kick to share with our friends."
Buffalo Bill beer turned into dispute between Bischoff, Irma Hotel
Producing a product labeled "Buffalo Bill Cody Beer" has been a challenge for Bischoff Entertainment LLC.
The company recently sued CIH Inc. for producing "Buffalo Bill Beer" and selling it at their Irma Hotel.
Bischoff Entertainment's request that the judge issue a temporary restraining order and permanent injunction prohibiting the Irma Hotel from selling or distributing Buffalo Bill Beer was denied July 15.
Bischoff Entertainment and CIH Inc. both created labels, applied for trademarks and began selling their beer within days of each other.
While Darby declined comment Friday, court documents state he plans to continue completing the process of acquiring a legal label for his beer. In the meantime, he said the Irma's brew is not being sold anywhere."
