PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION
» Just days after being told he will have a shot at becoming the #1 contender to the PWG title in America, Generico is getting that same opportunity in England too!
Determined to be the man to de-throne Super Dragon from his perch in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Generico requested the opportunity to secure a return for both himself and Super Dragon to the United Kingdom in a PWG title defence on an IPW:UK card. Obviously, IPW:UK didn’t have the sole power to allow this and as such sought PWG confirmation which arrived over the weekend. It is understood that Super Dragon, irate at the stipulation being upheld, is now considering re-submitting a new stipulation request for approval.
Therefore, as such, it is signed and confirmed that if El Generico gets the deciding pinfall, submission or knock out in the “Make of Break” tornado tag match at Return of the Dragon he and Super Dragon will return to IPW:UK in May or July to fight for the PWG title!
» In a recent conversation with IPW:UK promoters, Return of the Dragon round robin participant Spud has asked that he be allowed to travel down without Jack Storm, even though Storm is formally booked for the event, as he is ‘sick to death’ of Storm lately. This request was unfortunately rejected.
Storm had a change in attitude seemingly developing mid way through IPW:UK Best of British 1, when the crowd made it perfectly clear that they wanted to see more of Dragon Pheonix in the main event, rather than Jack. Storm then turned on his long-time partner in the main event, causing Pheonix to be eliminated first from the match. The Birmingham brawler has since attacked Dragon Pheonix again, forcing him out of IPW indefinitely and giving him the self-advised nickname of the career killer.
We hope to get more on this developing story after the FWA’s New Frontiers event where Jack Storm, Spud, Tony Sefton and many other IPW:UK superstars will all be backstage together.
