Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and the National Wrestling Alliance have parted ways. As a result, TNA will no longer be using the NWA World Heavyweight title or the NWA World Tag Team titles. The company has created new belts for the TNA World Heavyweight title, TNA World Tag Team titles and the TNA X-Division title. Bill Banks, a writer for the official website of TNA Wrestling, has posted an article stating that the new championship belts will be unveiled later this week at TNAWrestling.com during their “TNA Live” online video show.
Satellite TV owners and our fans in the New York City area can go back in time for some legendary ring action as âWWE Presents Madison Square Garden Classicsâ debuts at 8 p.m. EDT tonight on MSG Network. The show, hosted by WWE Hall of Fame announcer âMeanâ Gene Okerlund, will chronicle famous WWE contests at the Worldâs Most Famous Arena, featuring such luminary legends as Nature Boy Ric Flair, âThe Immortalâ Hulk Hogan, Bret âHitmanâ Hart, the Legion of Doom, Tito Santana, âKingâ Harley Race and many more.
“The Miz” now has a column up over at WWE.com. In this edition, he speaks about a recent appearance for charity. He participated in a “Grand Slam Paddle Jam” which all proceeds would benefit St Judes Childrens Hospital. Here are some of the things “The Miz” had to say: When I heard about this charity event, I instantly thought that I would not only be helping St. Jude Children’s Hospital, but there would be ping-pong and Dippinâ Dots â” you can’t beat that. As I arrived, I walked the green carpet and let everyone know that I was walking away with the Golden Paddle. Then they told me that it was a doubles tournament, which I insisted didn’t matter. About 20 minutes before the tournament was about to start, they found me a partner in Randy Spelling (son of Aaron Spelling, creator of 90210 and Melrose Place). I’ve known Randy for a while, so I went up and talked to him. He told me he wasn’t that good at ping-pong and I thought, âDamn, I’m going to lose this thing.â
