TNA No Surrender will take place on September 9th in Orlando, FL.
A press conference was held today in Nashville to promote the upcoming TNA Slammiversary PPV. Don West was the host of the press conference, which was attended by local Nashville media. Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett spoke about TNA returning to Nashville. Frank Wycheck, former Tight End for the Tennessee Titans was introduced and explained that he has been a long time fan of professional wrestling and was excited to have been asked to present the TNA World Heavyweight Title belt to the winner of the King of the Mountain match at Slammiversary. Wycheck began taking questions from local media and talked about the run-in he and other Titans had at a TNA show almost five years ago. Wycheck also talked about the time Jeff Jarrett wore a “Wycheck” jersey on an episode of Nitro. Near the end of the press conference Cowboy James Storm confronted Wycheck and asked him why he didn’t get in the ring instead of just sitting ringside to hand somebody a belt. After words were exchanged, Storm spat beer in Wycheck’s face. Storm was pulled away from Wycheck by Jerry Lynn and Showtime Eric Young and during the confusion Wycheck got his hands on Jeff Jarrett’s guitar. Storm spun around to continue the argument but was smashed by Wycheck with Jarrett’s guitar. Storm was hauled away from the press conference by TNA staff while local media swarmed Wycheck to ask him questions about what had just happened. During the confusion, Don West went to the microphone and said he had consulted with TNA management and that they were making the match between Wycheck and Storm for Slammiversary. Footage of the altercation will get heavy play in Nashville today, and TNAWrestling.com should have updates later this afternoon.
