What’s up wrestling fans? (INSERT JAW DROP). Tonight’s Raw, emanating live from North Carolina, was the best two hours of wrestling television I have seen in years. Tonight was so good, that I don’t need to write an in depth review of the show. This was simply, top to bottom, an incredible show. It was paced with suspense, non-stop adrenaline, a crowd that was as hot as I’ve ever seen, and last, but very much not least, great wrestling. Storylines progressed seamlessly and intelligently, The Great American Bash this Sunday night was hyped appropriately, and when it was all said and done, I found myself not only wanting more, but about 10 feet from the edge of my seat. Was it a perfect show? No. But then again, who can tell me the last time there has been a perfect free two hours of wrestling TV? Yes, I have my criticisms of this show, but they are so small in comparison to the total enjoyment I had watching Raw tonight, that I’ll save them and my detailed review for a special audio segment that I will post later in the week. I’m too excited to write about this Raw, I want to talk about it. If this is Raw from now on, then I can confidently say wrestling is back. This, folks, was about as good as it gets. This folks, was 8 out of 9 stars.
Note: Due to an overwhelming amount of requests for an in depth written review, I will post something for you all to read by Tuesday night. I will also record something for those of you who prefer an audio review. This Raw deserves all kinds of formats for a review, audio, visual, pie charts, graphs. Hell I’ll even carve a review out of a pumpkin for this episode!
Since WWE’s got us asking so many questions right now on Raw, I thought it would be a good time to play another round of “What do you think?” A couple week’s ago we all wondered who tried to kill Vince, last week we wanted to know who “he” is, now we have to figure out “what’s in the bag?” I’m still reeling from the roller coaster ride that was Raw, so I thought I’d offer my prediction:
My guess is that Kane’s mask is in the bag. He’s questioning whether his former self is alive or dead. I know this changes my former prediction that “he” is Vince, but I think it would be fascinating if it turned out to be a struggle within himself.
Whatever it turns out to be, creative is handling Kane’s turn delicately and with depth. I can’t wait to see where this goes in the coming week, and to hear all of YOUR opinions. So please send them to [email protected] and I will post them right here on WZ throughout the week!
