RAW Opener: Ric Flair, Batista & John Cena and Legacy
Randy Orton’s music hits and out he comes with his WWE championship and a microphone. Lawler and Cole talk about last night’s PPV as still-shot images from the match are shown. Orton reminds everyone he is still WWE champion. "You suck" chant breaks out from the crowd. Orton says he was not only looking to retain his title, but he wanted to take Batista out at Judgment Day. He says while he was about to do that he was stopped by Ric Flair. "Wooooo!" chant from the crowd. Orton says Flair was never fond of him back during the Evolution days. He felt Orton would surpass Triple H. Orton says he didn’t forget that when he kicked Ric Flair in the skull a while ago. He says hadn’t he done that, Flair might have beat Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania and could be competing today. He says he’s proud to say he kicked every other member of Evolution in the skull. Orton says Flair didn’t save Batista last night, all he did was delay the inevitable. He dares Flair to get in his business again. "Wooo!", Flair’s music hits as the crowd pops huge. Flair does some "Wooo’s" into the mic. He says Orton might still be champion but he did not beat Batista. Flair says he was close to losing the match so he slapped the referee to get disqualified. He orders Orton to look him in the eyes. Flair says when it comes to Evolution, Orton was supposed to be the chosen one. He was supposed to be the man. He says that didn’t happen, Batista flew by him. "Zoom!" says a hyper Flair. Orton says the title on his shoulder says he is the man. He says he can beat Batista anytime, any-place, anywhere. Flair interupts him with a "Wooo!" Flair says that’s perfect because he saw Vickie Guerrero an hour ago and she was upset about the outcome of the match at the PPV last night. Flair said he gave her an idea and she okay’d it. Flair says in three weeks there’s a PPV. Flair says Orton will be defending his title at that PPV one more time against Batista. He says he won’t have to worry this time about disqualifications or count-outs because this time the match will be a steel cage match. Orton out of nowhere cheap-shots Flair with a sucker-punch that drops him. Orton is putting the boots to Flair relentlessly as Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes make their way to the ring. Batista jumps DiBiase and Rhodes from behind. However, all three members of Legacy overwhelm Batista and they’re beating up both Batista and Flair. John Cena hits the ring and is helping Batista and Flair. Orton, DiBiase and Rhodes run away quickly as Cena makes the save.
