Jaida Parker Reflects On Competing In WWE Royal Rumble Match

Jaida Parker said competing in the Royal Rumble match was her chance to show everyone who she was.

NXT‘s Jaida Parker competed in the Women’s Royal Rumble match, and she mixed it up with many of WWE’s top stars.

Speaking on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, Jaida Parker discussed competing in the Royal Rumble match. She recalled how she learned that she would be in the match.

“They reached out to me, they let me know, and I was informed of being in the Rumble. I tried to hold back all the tears that I had built up because it has not been an easy journey at all. There’s days when you question everything and you question yourself. For me to get that reassurance, I told my mama, I was like, ‘You can’t tell me God ain’t real.’ You can’t.

“Because there’s no way in hell that I can go through all these trials and tribulations and then still end up on top. That ain’t nothing but God. I cried. I called my mama, and I was like, ‘We gonna do this, and this is my chance to show the world, the WWE Universe, in front of millions of people who the hell Jaida Parker is, and that’s exactly what I did.”

Jaida Parker On Her Moment With Naomi, Bianca Belair

Parker went on to discuss the moment that she shared with Bianca Belair and Naomi during the match, and she said that she looked up to them.

“That moment, it was insane,” Parker said. “Because I went there, did my little stuff, had that moment with Lash [Legend]. Then I turned, and I’m like, oh, that’s Bianca, and I was like, oh, that’s Naomi. I was like, oh okay. I was just embracing that moment because a lot of people can’t say that they’ve ever had that moment with them.

“I’m always praising them because they’re the Black women that I look up to. Seeing them come up in this industry and how long they’ve been in this industry, it’s not only inspirational, but it’s like okay, I’m trying to make my idols become my rivals, and that’s what I’m trying to do because iron can only sharpen iron. It was an amazing moment. I just can’t wait to get back in the ring with all of them.”

WrestleZone will have coverage of WWE NXT as it airs on March 18th.
