It sounds like WWE has big plans for Chad Gable‘s new masked persona on RAW.
Earlier this week on RAW following Gable’s sabbatical to Mexico, the leader of American Made returned under a mask during a match between The New Day and the team of Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee. Gable got physically involved and helped New Day pick up the victory.
Later in the show, Gable insisted to Cathy Kelley that he wasn’t the masked man and showed security in the background removing someone in that same outfit and mask out of the building. But for those who thought this was a one-and-done, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
On March 13, WWE filed for a new trademark with the USPTO for the name Grande Americano. The description of the trademark reads as follows:
Registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.
Is Chad Gable Grande Americano?
While there’s a chance this trademark isn’t meant for Gable, that seems like a stretch at best.
