Wardlow has been absent from AEW television for nearly a year, and a new report provides an update.
Wardlow has not wrestled since AEW Dynamite: Big Business in March 2024, where he lost to Samoa Joe in a world title match. He had been a member of the Undisputed Kingdom before he was sidelined. In September, Matt Taven said that Wardlow was out with a knee injury.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Wardlow has been in Los Angeles, the site of AEW Revolution, recently. Sapp writes that there is no word on if he is backstage, but that it “wouldn’t be surprising” if he was. The report notes that Wardlow has been in Los Angeles working on another project. There is no word on any details about a timetable for his return.
Wardlow’s AEW Run
“Mr. Mayhem” has been with AEW since 2019, and he had a lengthy run as MJF’s bodyguard. He later joined The Pinnacle. Wardlow turned on MJF at AEW Revolution 2022 and went on to beat him at AEW Double or Nothing. He then won the TNT Championship three times, with the last reign coming in 2023. He later joined the Undisputed Kingdom, and he was with the group throughout the first few months of 2024.
