Matt Jackson has done many great things in wrestling, but one in particular holds a special place in his heart.
During a Never Not Jet Lagged AMA, Matt Jackson was asked if there are plans to bring back Being The Elite. Jackson said not having BTE has been a void in his life but it’s probably the proudest thing he’s ever been involved in.
“Here’s the thing, a big reason why we brought this show together is because not having BTE has kind of been a void in my life,” Matt Jackson admitted. “Because it was something that I was so involved in for seven years. So yeah, I’ve really felt that void where I’m like I’m not sharing with the fans like I used to, and I missed it.
“And it’s a really great creative thing for me to be able to do something like that. So a big reason why we’re doing the show is because BTE is not around. And right now there are no plans. I feel like it served its purpose for when it was around. And it’s probably my proudest thing I’ve ever been involved in.”
A proper goodbye for Being The Elite?
Matt Jackson went on to say he’s not sure BTE got the flowers it deserves and would love to do a proper goodbye episode to give fans closure.
“And I don’t know if it gets the flowers that it probably should,” Matt Jackson continued. “Because it’s responsible for a lot of what we all get to enjoy nowadays. Some of my favorite memories was every week coming up with new premises, new ideas, new jokes, new bits. I’m sad that we didn’t get a proper goodbye. So like, if there ever is an episode ever again, I think that would be the way to do it. Is to finally have a little closure for you guys.
“Because I don’t think it was fair to you guys to have a show that’s around for so long that you love so much and just to go away the way it did. I don’t think that was fair to you guys. So we never say never. But I think that’s why we wanted to do this show is to give you something. And speaking of which, if you’re a BTE fan, there is some BTE nostalgia in this episode and a couple of BTE characters. And some sights and places that we’ve gone to on BTE. Sorry for the long-winded answer.”
