HOOK has signed with an agent, and he is reportedly expected to stay with AEW.
HOOK, the son of Taz, has been with AEW since 2020. During his time with the company, he has won the FTW Championship three times. He is currently part of The Opps with Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that HOOK signed with agent Barry Bloom for representation in future contract negotiations. Per Johnson, Bloom signed HOOK months ago, and it is expected that AEW will “make sure” that he stays with the company.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
Chris Jericho On HOOK
Chris Jericho previously discussed HOOK’s success in AEW during an interview with the Daily Star.
“I’ve wrestled a few sons before, but yeah, I mean, Taz and I, I’m not going to say we ever had a huge feud, but he was one of my first matches I ever had in ECW,” Chris Jericho said. “I worked with him more than a few times in WWE. So yeah, it’s cool to see his son and what HOOK has been able to do.
“Because I think at first HOOK, I’m not sure if he wanted to be in the business. I think he was just kind of there and just kind of like, ‘Okay, I’ll give it a try.’ But now he’s really feeling it. He’s doing a great job. And, yeah, once again, like to me, it is crazy to think I’ve been doing this for 33 years. But it’s not that crazy, because I’m still really enjoying it and still doing it at a high level and creating really cool moments by keeping fans involved and happy or angry if that’s the way they feel. But that’s okay, that’s the wrestling business.
“So yeah, I’m happy to work with Taz’s son, and with Dynamite’s Nephew, and with anybody else. It’s just great to be a part of such an awesome company like AEW that we’ve built so quickly in just five years. And to know that I was an integral part of it and still am is an honor.”
