TNA iMPACT Results:
This week’s episode of TNA iMPACT kicks off with a recap package of last week’s show.
TNA World Championship: Joe Hendry (c) vs. Jake Something
- The finish of the match saw Joe Hendry hit Jake Something with a Standing Ovation to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: And still TNA World Champion, Joe Hendry
Grade: B
A solid match to kick off the show. I like the concept of Hendry being a fighting champion and taking on all challengers. It will provide the opportunity for people not doing anything of note to work with the champion and get a bit of a rub in the process.
Ryan Nemeth still has an issue with Joe Hendry
After the match, Ryan Nemeth comes to the ring and says he and his brother are sick of Joe Hendry and that he’s a fraud and not a real champion. This brings out Santino Marella and Jake Something attempts to attack Ryan. This brings out Nic Nemeth who fires multiple superkicks at Jake but the last one hits Santino, knocking him out cold.
Nic Nemeth is suspended
Backstage Santino Marella is icing his jaw and the Nemeth brothers approach him. Nic apologizes profusely but it doesn’t do any good. Marella suspends him for four weeks without pay. Ryan says he’ll hold things down while Nic is gone.
Ash and Heather by Elegance vs. The King Bees
- The finish of the match saw Heather by Elegance hit a top rope C4 to score the pinfall victory for her team.
Winners: Ash and Heather by Elegance
After the match, Heather and Ash smear lipstick on The King Bees’ faces which brings out Spitfire to run them off.
Grade: C+
This wasn’t great. I don’t have much to say about this one…
JDC says The Hardys are using Leon Slater
Backstage JDC approaches Leon Slater and says The Hardys are just using him to help their careers and he’s not as good as he thinks he is. The two get into a shoving battle and Slater says he wants a no-disqualification match with JDC.
Who is the leader of TNA?
We are shown a video from earlier today where Mustafa Ali hosts a Town Hall meeting and says he is the great leader that TNA needs and declares himself the number one contender for the TNA World Title. Tommy Dreamer interrupts to tell Ali that Mike Santana is the leader of the company right now, not him.
Sami Callihan is attacked before his match backstage by Mance Warner and Steph De Lander.
Frankie Kazarian vs. Sami Callihan
- The finish of the match saw a distraction from Mance Warner lead to Frankie Kazarian putting Sami Callihan in a Chicken Wing to win via submission.
Winner: Frankie Kazarian
After the match, Callihan and Warner continue to brawl as security tries to keep them separated.
Grade: N/A
This wasn’t enough of a match to grade, it was more of an angle with a quick match involved more than anything else.
Josh Alexander’s last night on TNA iMPACT
Josh Alexander is backstage with Gia Miller. Alexander says he’s sad his run in TNA is over but he’s happy that it happened. Alexander says he’s mad his last match has to be against Eric Young. Josh says he’s going to go out there and give it everything he has tonight and he’ll let his actions speak louder than his words.
Cora Jade vs. Xia Brookside
- The finish of the match saw Cora Jade hit Xia Brookside with Jaded to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Cora Jade
Grade: B-
The match was fine, it was just kind of there. Jade being involved in a big storyline on NXT right now makes her involvement in TNA very confusing at the moment. Curious if plans changed after TNA already taped their television which is really the only explanation that makes sense.
Santino is in a mood tonight
Backstage Ariana Grace tries to talk with Tessa Blanchard but gets attitude in response. Santino Marella interrupts and yells at Blanchard telling her that if she doesn’t compete in a match next week there are going to be serious consequences.
The Rascalz head to the ring and say they are tired of dealing with Wes Lee and his bootleg Rascalz. Miguel says they are going to team up with Ace Austin to take these guys down and demand they come to the ring.
Wes Lee, Tyson, and Tyriek come out and come to the ring to brawl, but Ace Austin joins in on the action to even the odds. Wes Lee and his “Bootleg Rascalz” come out of the brawl on top.
TNA Knockouts Championship: Masha Slamovich (c) vs. Savannah Evans
- The finish of the match saw Masha Slamovich hit Savannah Evans with Reqium to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: And still Knockouts Champion, Masha Slamovich
Grade: B+
A fun, hard-hitting matchup. With the exit of Jordynne Grace, the Knockouts division is going to heavily rely on Masha in 2025. I think the division is in good hands.
Josh Alexander vs. Eric Young (w/ The Northern Armory)
- The finish of the match saw Eric Young hit Josh Alexander with a piledriver to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Eric Young
Grade: B+
Young celebrates with the Northern Armory as TNA iMPACT goes off the air.
TNA iMPACT Review:
I thought this was going to be a pretty great show tonight based on the card, but I left the episode feeling underwhelmed. The final two matches were very good, but the rest of the show was just kinda there. It didn’t feel like a show that really moved anything forward. Welp, there’s always next week.
Grade: B-
