New faces have claimed the throne.
Last month, NWA Women’s Tag Team Champion Ella Envy confirmed her departure from National Wrestling Alliance, making the future of her reign alongside Miss Starr (aka Samantha Starr) uncertain. This week on NWA Powerrr, that title picture became clearer as Kenzie Paige and Big Mama took their place as the new NWA Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Originally, Envy and Starr (together The It Girls) were set to defend the titles against Kylie Paige and her mystery partner, Big Mama. A broken arm, however, rendered Kylie unable to compete. As such, Kylie selected her sister and NWA Women’s World Champion Kenzie Paige as her replacement.
This move proved pivotal, as Kenzie later laid out Envy with a cutter for the victory and the NWA Women’s Tag Team Championships. In doing so, Kenzie also cemented a page for herself and Big Mama in the National Wrestling Alliance history books.
With their win over The It Girls, Kenzie Paige becomes the first to simultaneously reign as the NWA Women’s World Women’s and World Tag Team Champions. Similarly, Big Mama is the first to hold the NWA Women’s Television and Tag Team Championships at once. Mama reign as the Women’s TV Champion begin in October 2024 when she defeated Haley J, Tiffany Nieves, and Natalia Markova at Super Smashing Halloween. Meanwhile, Kenzie’s run as Women’s World Champion extends back to NWA 75, which took place back in August 2023.
