Report: Miro And AEW Mutually Agree To Part Ways

Miro is no longer All Elite.

According to a new report from PWInsider.com, Miro has left AEW. The outlet states that the two sides reached a mutual agreement to part ways. It was previously reported that Miro asked for his release near the end of 2024. PWInsider noted that the two sides had been working on an agreement for a split “for some time.”

The former Rusev joined AEW in 2020 and adopted a “Best Man” gimmick, aligning himself with Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford. He won the promotion’s TNT Championship and later adopted a “God’s Favorite Champion” gimmick.

After losing the title in 2021, Miro spent the first six months of 2022 on the injured list. He returned in June 2022, but made sporadic appearances after that. “The Redeemer” was once again sidelined after a match at All Out 2022, but returned for the May 10, 2023 episode of AEW Dynamite. His last match in the company was a win over Andrade El Idolo at AEW Worlds End in December 2023. This also marked the final AEW appearances for both Andrade and Miro’s ex-wife, CJ Perry. Miro did not wrestle anywhere in 2024.

Miro signed a two-year deal with AEW when he joined the company in September 2020. He later signed a four-year extension around the time his original contract was scheduled to expire in Spring 2022. Miro has only wrestled 11 matches since signing the contract extension. His profile has also been removed from the AEW roster page.
