AEW Dynamite Results:

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite kicks off with Renee Paquette interviewing Jay White as he arrives at the building. White explains that dealing with The Death Riders has him trusting and relying on Rated FTR when he normally wouldn’t because Moxley loves to play the numbers game.

The Death Riders come to attack White outside, but Rated FTR come up from behind and everyone brawls as Marina Shafir carries Paquette out of harm’s way. The brawl makes its way to the ringside area and ends with Claudio Castagnoli taking a spear from Adam Copeland to save Jon Moxley.

As The Death Riders leave through the crowd, Cope gets on the microphone and wants his answer for his challenge at Revolution next month. Moxley storms back to the ring to grab a microphone and tells Cope he deserves nothing, and he gets nothing and says the answer is no.

Jay White challenges Moxley and Castagnoli to a Brisbane Street Fight at Grand Slam later this month as he’ll tag with Cope.

An AEW Continental Championship match between Kazuchika Okada and Buddy Matthews is announced for Grand Slam.

Mark Davis joins The Don Callis Family?

Will Ospreay vs. Mark Davis (w/ Don Callis)

  • The finish of the match saw Will Ospreay hit Mark Davis with The Hidden Blade to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Will Ospreay

After the match, Ospreay gets on the microphone and brings out Kenny Omega. This causes Don Callis to run away into the crowd. Omega thanks Atlanta for the reception and says he has no clue what Callis has on Mark Davis, but he has people in AEW he can trust. Kyle Fletcher and Konsuke Takeshita come out but Don Callis holds them back.

Kenny Omega says they can come to the ring and do it right now, but if they don’t want to, they better prepare for next week when they face each other in Australia. Omega says the future of AEW is not on the ramp right now but in the ring.

Grade: A

I really loved this match. While I feel like they told the Mark Davis storyline severely out of order, I’m gonna let this one slide. Aussie Open belongs together as a tag team. So if this is a way to correct that problem they created, so be it.

A video package plays hyping tonight’s main event between Swerve Strickland and Ricochet.

The Hurt Syndicate is in the building.

Back from a commercial break, The Hurt Syndicate make their way to the ring to speak. MVP says this is an official announcement from The Hurt Syndicate. MVP gives props to Private Party and says they have a bright future, but they were the wrong people, in the wrong place, at the wrong time. Porter says it wasn’t their fault they had to step into the ring with The Hurt Syndicate.

MVP puts the rest of the roster on notice and says when they choose to come after more championships, they will hurt people and take them. Porter lays out an open challenge in the meantime for anyone who wants to challenge for the AEW World Tag Team Titles, and it’s answered by the returning Gunn Club, who say they want to come into the ring and talk business.

MVP welcomes them into the ring to speak like men. Austin Gunn says the only reason The Hurt Syndicate have those titles is because they weren’t around. Colten Gunn says hurting people is part of the job, and they are here to take back their tag titles. MVP agrees to a title match next week on Dynamite.

A video package plays, recapping Harley Cameron’s first win on AEW programming.

The show cuts to Renee Paquette backstage looking to speak with Mercedes Moné but runs into Harley Cameron’s Moné puppet instead. Cameron says she’ll have a concert this Saturday on Collision. The real Mercedes Moné interrupts and calls Cameron a loser, and losers don’t get to ride the Moné Train. Moné turns her back to leave, and Cameron flips her the bird, but Paquette does her best to hide it.

Hangman Page is conflicted

Renee Paquette catches up with Hangman Page backstage and asks him about looking for Swerve Strickland last week. Hangman says it was a moment of weakness and it will never happen again. Paquette asks him about ending Christopher Daniel’s career and Page says he doesn’t feel bad and doesn’t regret ending Daniels’ career.

Max Caster interrupts, asking when the promo is gonna be over, and asks Hangman to put Anthony Bowens or Billy Gunn in the hospital. Hangman says he would love to put someone in the hospital tonight, and he doesn’t see Bowens or Gunn. Caster runs away, and Hangman chases after him.

The Hounds of Hell vs. Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita (w Don Callis)

  • The finish of the match saw Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita hit a double-team brainbuster on Brody King. Fletcher scores the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita

Grade: A-

Not loving the idea of The Hounds of Hell losing a match clean like this. The match itself was great. But the Okada music spot earlier in the match would have at least given a reason for Buddy and Brody to lose. As much as I enjoyed the match, I feel The Hounds of Hell could have been protected better tonight with this loss.

A message sent to The Patriarchy…

Samoa Joe and HOOK are backstage and they go into The Patriarchy’s locker room. Christian Cage isn’t there so they beat up Kip Sabian and Nick Wayne to send a message and leave. Cage sneaks back in with Mother Wayne after the fact to check on Wayne and Sabian.

You can check out the segment by clicking here since the post won’t embed.

Everyone interrupts MJF

MJF comes to the ring and runs down Jeff Jarrett, saying this is All Elite Wrestling, not All Elderly Wrestling. Friedman says with Jarrett out of his hair he can focus on regaining the Triple B. Max Caster hits the ring running away from Hangman Page. Page hits the ring but Caster is already gone and the two of them face off before Page goes after Caster through the crowd.

MJF complains that this is his time and he’s tired of people interrupting him, only to be interrupted again, this time by Dustin Rhodes. Rhodes tells MJF to shut up and keep people’s names like Owen Hart out of his mouth or he’s gonna kick his ass.

Rhodes talks about going through hell to get clean from his past issues and says MJF isn’t the devil. Dustin tells MJF that he’s better than him. MJF says the years of drugs must have turned Dustin’s brains into swiss cheese.

Friedman says it took him 30 years to crawl out of his father’s shadow and now he’s in the shadows of his baby brother. Rhodes snaps and beats on MJF until they are separated by security. MJF manages to get a cheapshot and kicks Dustin between the legs to end the segment.

Playing the role of Mariah May is…

Mariah May joins the commentary team for the next match. Toni Storm wrestles this match dressed like Mariah May.

Timeless Toni Storm vs. Queen Aminata

  • The finish of the match saw Toni Storm hit Queen Aminata with Mayday to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Timeless Toni Storm (as Mariah May)

After the match, Renee Paquette interviews her, and Storm says she’s Mariah May and she’s the woman from hell. Mariah May throws down the headset and gets on the ring apron before grabbing her title and leaving.

Grade: A

That was freaking great! The match was great, and Toni’s presentation of Mariah May was perfect. I loved everything about this. Everything about that was so much fun.

Dustin Rhodes is backstage and challenges MJF to a match next week on Dynamite.

Can someone time the “New York Minute”?

We hear from The Learning Tree standing at ringside, and Chris Jericho says no one wants Bandido in AEW. Jericho says there’s a $100,000 bounty on his head,d so he’s gonna have the Bounty Hunter Bryan Keith face Bandido on Collision and he’ll double the amount. Powerhouse Hobbs and The Outrunners come out and brawl with The Learning Tree until everyone is separated.

Eventually, Hobbs and Bill meet in the ring and continue to brawl. The two men brawl over the top of the commentator’s guest, which was likely meant to break but didn’t. The show cuts to a commercial break.

Main event time on AEW Dynamite

Swerve Strickland (w/ Prince Nana) vs. Ricochet

  • The finish of the match saw Ricochet hit Swerve Strickland with a low blow off the Swerve Stomp and hit him with the Spirit Gun to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Ricochet

Grade: A-

After the match, Ricochet steals Prince Nana’s Embassy robe and leaves with it as AEW Dynamite goes off the air.

AEW Dynamite Review:

I gotta admit when the show started with more Death Riders stuff I was worried about tonight’s show, but everything following that was pretty great. The in-ring action tonight was top notch and there were some fun in-ring and backstage segments. I really enjoyed tonight’s show. Well done!

Grade: A-
