The Undertaker Doesn’t Think John Cena Needs To Win 17th World Title

The Undertaker explains why John Cena shouldn’t become a 17-time WWE Champion.

Cena is retiring from in-ring competition at the end of the year, and he has made it clear that he wants to win his 17th world title before he hangs up his boots. He is currently tied with Ric Flair for the most world titles reigns in history.

However, not everybody agrees that Cena should win another WWE Championship in 2025. WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker recently spoke about this topic on his Six Feet Under podcast and gave his view on the situation. The Undertaker revealed that he hopes John Cena doesn’t win another world title this year. The legend explained that Cena hasn’t won a singles match in over 2000 days and should be losing in big matches in his final year.

“He’s on his way out—this is his goodbye tour,” he said. “He needs to be put in some meaningful spots and get some wins because he hasn’t won in over 2,000 days or whatever. He does need to get some key wins, but in the big, important matches, he probably should pass the baton.”

“I think that’s his mindset as well. I don’t believe, by any means, that he wants to get his hand raised every time on the way out. That’s not John’s character. I think he wants to pay it forward and do the best he can for the company.”

The Undertaker On Hulk Hogan Getting Booed: Sometimes In Life, Things Come Back

The Undertaker also shared his thoughts on Hulk Hogan getting booed at the Raw on Netflix premiere.

He addressed the fan’s reaction to Hulk Hogan on his Six Feet Under Podcast, and he didn’t show much sympathy. He quipped that Hogan was “no-selling” the crowd’s boos to sell his beer. The Undertaker then said that, sometimes, things come back.

“When I saw him, he was no-selling [the boos] and pushing his beer. I wasn’t backstage when he came… No, [I didn’t want to give him a hug],” The Undertaker said.

When asked if he felt bad for Hulk Hogan, he replied by saying, “No… I got feelings. I got feelings for people. But sometimes in life, things come back.” (H/t SEScoops for the transcription)
