LA Knight On Celebrities In Wrestling: Some People Just Don’t Belong In A Ring

LA Knight explains why he believes some celebrities don’t belong inside the squared circle.

WWE SmackDown Superstar LA Knight was a recent guest on the Battleground Podcast. When asked about his stance on celebrities in the world of professional wrestling, Knight offered his honest take on the subject.

“It really depends,” LA Knight admitted. “I think personally, you got to be a little choosy with who’s going to come in and get that physical involvement, just because of the fact that not everybody’s got an athletic bone in their body. If you go around to any wrestling school on any given day, you’ll see a whole lot of that and you’ve got to wonder, why do you think you can do this? Why are you doing this, why are you even setting foot in a ring, you have not a single athletic bone in your body. Not everybody can do this.

“That’s my one qualm with having too many celebrities do this, it gives people the idea that anybody can do this. Not anybody can do this, very few people can do this and do it well. I will give credit to Logan Paul, he’s a hell of an athlete and can do a whole lot of crazy things that I wouldn’t even dare do.

“At the same time, he’s able to find that aptitude and put it together. You mentioned Bad Bunny, a guy who — if it’s something that you’ve always been into your entire life, there’s a chance, but bottom line is you still have to be able to have that aptitude. You have to be able to have the physicality, the athleticism.

LA Knight gives an example of a celebrity who didn’t belong in the ring

“If you have that, sure, I say anybody go ahead and do it but you got to be realistic with yourself. Those two guys at least you can realistically, they did it and they pulled it off. That’s one of the great examples. No offense to my sweet Snooki out there, never met her in my life, but look, that’s another example of like, I understand the idea, I understand the reasoning, we’re going cross-promotion but some people just don’t belong in a ring if I’m honest.” [H/T: Fightful]

In-ring celebrity involvement in WWE isn’t ending any time soon…

Despite how Knight feels about celebrity involvement in wrestling, this integration won’t be ending any time soon. Online streamer IShowSpeed being speared by Bron Breakker Saturday night in the Men’s Royal Rumble match became WWE’s most-viewed Royal Rumble social media clip of all time. The brutal-looking maneuver massed over 300 million views in less than 24 hours.
