WWE Royal Rumble 2025 comes to you live from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN, on Saturday (Feb.1). This will be WWE’s first PLE to stream live internationally on Netflix. As for fans in the US, the Rumble goes down live on Peacock at 6 ET/3 PT.
WWE has confirmed four matches (at the time of this writing) for the 38th annual Royal Rumble PLE. Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, John Cena, Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, and more are scheduled to appear.
That said, let’s get to our WWE Royal Rumble 2025 preview and predictions.
#DIY (c) vs. Motor City Machine Guns – 2 out of 3 Falls Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship
Preview: Johnny Gargano’s shocking turn against Shelley and Sabin allowed DIY to capture the tag team titles. A rematch between the two teams on the first SmackDown of 2025 would end in no contest due to Los Garza and Pretty Deadly run-in. MCMG would spend the following weeks beating both teams to get back into the tag team title picture.
Prediction: The tag team titles are getting a PLE treatment for the first time since WrestleMania 40. #DIY and MCMG are the perfect teams to deliver what could potentially be a MOTY contender. Assuming WWE wants to keep this feud going, Shelley and Sabin pick up the win on Saturday to set up another match with Gargano and Ciampa.
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens – Ladder match for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Royal Rumble 2025
Preview: Kevin Owens attacked Cody Rhodes backstage after WWE Bad Blood 2024, citing the American Nightmare’s alliance with Roman Reigns as his reason for the assault. A furious Owens would drop Rhodes on his head following his loss at Saturday Night’s Main Event 2024. Owens has since spent his time parading with the Winged Eagle Championship, claiming to be the rightful champion.
Prediction: Kevin Owens’ WWE Royal Rumble record (in singles competition) is just terrible. He failed to beat Reigns for his title at the Rumble in 2023. Last year, he lost to Logan Paul for the United States Championship via DQ. Saturday won’t likely be any different as far as the outcome is concerned. That said, this writer expects Sami Zayn to pop up at some point during the match.
Women’s Royal Rumble Match
Preview: Thirty superstars will compete for a guaranteed title match at WrestleMania 41. The lineup for the Women’s Royal Rumble 2025 currently consists of Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, Nia Jax, Liv Morgan, Naomi, and more. Which superstar will emerge as the last person standing inside the ring come Saturday? We’ll find out.
Prediction: Charlotte Flair is reportedly being discussed for a major match at WrestleMania 41. There’s no denying that is a big money match, and the best-case scenario is for Flair to earn her title shot by winning the women’s rumble match. Let’s see if this writer’s prediction comes true this Saturday.
Men’s WWE Royal Rumble 2025 Match
Preview: This year’s men’s Rumble match is one of the most stacked in modern-day WWE. We’ve got CM Punk, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Logan Paul. This is what a star-studded line-up looks like. This type of star power really makes the titles these men are going after look like the most important thing in the business.
Prediction: To be honest, there’s plenty of names in this year’s rumble who could benefit from a win. This writer has trouble picking one. So, I’ll let you be the judge of that. But before we bid adieu, here’s some wild fantasy booking from yours truly: The Rock enters at number 30 and goes on to win Royal Rumble 2025 to set up a major match at WrestleMania 41.
