Elijah (f.k.a Elias). He was released from WWE back in 2023. Recently the former 24/7 Champion commented on his future in the wrestling business.
While speaking at a Virtual Signing at K & S WrestleFest, Elijah shared that he wanted to just take a break after being released from WWE. But his love for professional wrestling was rejuvenated thanks to Sami Callihan and his Indie Wrestling Show.
“When I left WWE, I was like, let me just relax, right. Then a buddy of mine, Sami Callihan, he was like hey, come on out to one of our shows, wrestle our guy ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey, just have some fun and see how you feel.’ Went out, had fun,” Elijah explained (H/T Fightful.com). “I was like, ‘Oh, yeah.’ I think I told you, for the last months of my career in WWE, I was beating on the door, trying to have fun, make something happen, and it wasn’t happening. So to go out to an indie show, have some fun, doing the things I’ve always wanted to do, put me right back into it. So I’ve been enjoying that, man.”
The former WWE Superstar also shared that he is open to working at other wrestling promotions such as AEW, TNA Wrestling, or New Japan Pro Wrestling. But at the same time, he is not in a hurry to sign with any promotion.
“If AEW or TNA or Japan or something like that, if an opportunity comes up, maybe take it, see what they’ve got to say, but there’s no rush or anything like that,” Elijah said.
