Javier Bernal was not the only talent who returned from injury at the WWE NXT tapings on January 21st.
Bernal had been sidelined since June, but he made his return in a dark match on Tuesday. As it turns out, he was not alone.
In a tweet, Saquon Shugars commented on returning to the ring at the tapings. He joked that WWE Vault would leak the match in 20 years.
Shugars had been absent since the March 19th, 2024, taping of NXT Level Up. He shared a picture of himself in the hospital bed, and the post included a scan of his knee, indicating that he had suffered a knee injury.
Shugars had only competed in four matches in WWE before his injury. He debuted at an NXT live event in February. Before he joined WWE, he had a buzzworthy run as Lucky Ali on the independent scene.
As of this writing, there is no word on when Shugars will return to NXT programming. WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
